Capital & Compute

Privacy Policy: Data, Cookies & Your Rights

How Capital & Compute collects, uses, and protects your information, including your rights under the GDPR and CCPA.

Last updated June 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Capital & Compute ("we", "us", "the publication") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit https://capitalandcompute.net (the "Site"). We aim to collect as little personal data as possible.

Information we collect

Advertising and third-party partners

We intend to display advertising on the Site. Third-party vendors, includingGoogle, may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Analytics

We use the following analytics services to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve our content:

Where analytics or advertising rely on consent, we will obtain it as required by applicable law.

Email newsletter

Our email updates are delivered through Kit (formerly ConvertKit), a third-party email service provider that stores subscriber email addresses and sign-up details on our behalf and processes them solely to send the notifications you requested. We do not share your email address with advertisers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, and Kit's handling of your data is described in Kit's Privacy Policy.

How we use information

We use information to operate, maintain, and secure the Site; to respond to your messages; to measure and improve our content; and to display and measure advertising. We do not sell your personal information for money.

Your rights under the GDPR (EEA/UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our legal bases for processing are your consent (which you may withdraw at any time), our legitimate interests in operating the Site, and compliance with legal obligations.

Your rights under the CCPA (California)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration; some advertising and analytics cookie activity may constitute "sharing" under the CCPA, which you can limit using the opt-out links above.

Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law. Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle your inquiry, and newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe.

International transfers

The Site is served from a global content delivery network, and the third-party services described above (analytics, email delivery, and advertising) operate internationally. This means information covered by this policy may be processed in countries other than the one you are reading from, including the United States, whose data protection laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, our providers rely on recognised transfer mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses.

Controlling cookies and tracking

You can control most tracking without contacting us. Every current browser lets you block or delete cookies for a specific site, and blocking them here will not stop you reading anything: there are no accounts, no logins, and no content gated behind a cookie. Browsers that support Global Privacy Control or a Do Not Track signal will send it, and our analytics providers offer their own opt-outs, linked above.

Because the Site is static, with no server-side application and no user accounts, the amount of information it can collect is inherently limited. There is nothing to log in to, no profile stored, and no order history. The newsletter is the only place you can deliberately give us personal information, and unsubscribing removes it.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
