Sponsor & Advertise on Capital & Compute
How to sponsor or advertise on Capital & Compute, what is and is not for sale, and the independence rule that keeps every ranking unpaid.
Capital & Compute is an independent publication covering the economics of AI infrastructure: what models actually cost to run, which benchmarks survive scrutiny, and where the compute and memory supply chains are heading. It reaches people who are making buying decisions about that stack rather than browsing.
Who reads this site
The audience is engineers, founders, and finance people evaluating AI spend. They arrive on questions with a budget attached: what a coding agent costs per task, which inference provider to run open weights on, whether a benchmark score justifies a price, why memory prices are moving. That intent is the reason a sponsorship here is worth more than the raw numbers suggest.
Current traffic and audience figures are shared on request rather than published, because they change monthly and a stale number on a page helps nobody. Ask and you will get the real ones.
What is available
- Display sponsorship. Placements across the site and on the directories and trackers, which is where readers with active buying intent spend their time.
- Clearly labelled sponsored placement. Marked as sponsored on the page, and every link carries the
rel="sponsored"attribute Google requires. - Newsletter sponsorship. One email per new post, to readers who opted in deliberately.
Rates depend on placement and duration and are quoted per enquiry. There is no rate card on this page because there is no single number that would be honest for every format.
What is not for sale
Being direct about this saves everyone a round of email. None of the following can be bought at any price:
- A position in any ranking, leaderboard, comparison, or directory.
- A listing, or an improvement to an existing one.
- A favourable review, or a specific conclusion in one.
- Links that pass ranking signals. Every paid link is marked
rel="sponsored". - A byline. The site publishes under its brand, so there are no guest posts to sell.
- Removal or softening of accurate criticism.
The independence rule
Sponsors buy visibility. They never buy rank. The rankings, price comparisons, and benchmark assessments on this site are worth something to a reader precisely because no vendor can pay to move them, and that is the asset a sponsorship is actually reaching. Compromising it would destroy the thing being sold.
In practice: editorial decisions are made without reference to who is advertising, sponsors get no advance sight of coverage that mentions them, and every commercial relationship is disclosed. The full policy is in our editorial standards and our disclaimer and disclosures. If you want your product assessed on the merits instead, that route is free: submit it to a directory.
Why the restrictions are the offer
The list of things that are not for sale is longer than the list of things that are, and that is deliberate rather than precious. The directories, leaderboards and cost comparisons on this site are worth something to a reader only for as long as they cannot be bought. The moment a ranking can be paid into, every other position in it becomes unreadable, because a reader has no way to tell which entries are earned. Selling one placement would devalue the surface that makes the placement worth buying.
The practical consequence for an advertiser is that a sponsorship here sits beside editorial judgement that a reader trusts, rather than replacing it. That is a slower and smaller business than selling links, and it is the only version worth running.
What we ask of sponsors
Creative should be honest about what the product does and should stand up to the same scrutiny as the content around it. Claims about pricing, performance or benchmark results in an ad need to be substantiated on request, for the ordinary reason that a reader who checks a sponsor's number and finds it wrong will hold this site responsible for having carried it.
Every paid placement is labelled as sponsored where a reader can see it, and any link in one carries the rel="sponsored" attribute so the disclosure is machine-readable too. We decline campaigns that require the label to be softened, removed, or made ambiguous. We also decline categories that do not fit the audience or that we would not want beside the editorial, including anything promising financial returns.
How to get a quote
Email contact@capitalandcompute.net with your company and product URL, what you are trying to reach people for, a rough budget range, and your timing. A budget range genuinely speeds this up: it determines which formats are worth discussing.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I advertise on Capital & Compute?
- Email [email protected] with your company and product URL, your objective, a rough budget range, and your timing. Available formats are display sponsorship across the site and its directories, clearly labelled sponsored placement, and newsletter sponsorship.
- How much does sponsorship cost?
- Rates depend on placement and duration and are quoted per enquiry rather than published, because no single figure would be honest across every format. Including a budget range in a first email shortens the process considerably.
- Does paying for sponsorship affect rankings or reviews?
- No. Sponsors buy visibility and never buy rank. No position in any ranking, leaderboard, comparison, or directory is for sale, nor is a favourable review or the removal of accurate criticism. The rankings are valuable to readers only because they cannot be bought.
- Does Capital & Compute accept guest posts or paid links?
- No. The site publishes anonymously under its brand rather than individual bylines, so there is no byline to sell, and it does not sell links that pass ranking signals. Every paid link carries the rel="sponsored" attribute. Free editorial listings in the directories are the alternative route.
- Can I get my product listed in a directory by sponsoring?
- No. Listings are free and editorial, and sponsorship neither creates an entry nor improves an existing one. Products are submitted for a listing separately and assessed on availability, verifiable pricing, and independent confirmability.
- What traffic does the site get?
- Current traffic and audience figures are shared on request rather than published on this page, because they change monthly and a stale published number would be misleading.
